Lampre-Caffita
In 2005 was born the new Pro Tour circuit. Lampre was ready to face the new chalange and, signing a relationship with Caffita, entered in this new circuit that collected the best team.
The roster quality is very good, with Gilberto Simoni, with young interesting cyclsits and with the young star Damiano Cunego. This last one, even if he had some physical troubles, won some races such as Japan Cup and one stage in Tour de Romandie; Simoni showed to be the best cyclist for stage races, obtaining the 2nd place in Giro d'Italia with only few seconds of gap from the pink jersey, the victory in one stage in Paris-Nice and in Giro d'Emilia. Lampre-Caffita was skilful in raising to an international level young athletes: Bennati obtained three victories in Deutschland Tour and two successes in Tour de Polonie, Ballan shoewd to be perfect for the North races, Franzoi conquered the Italian cyclocross championship.
