In 1993 in Lampre-Polti arrived one of the strongest Italian cyclists: Maurizio Fondriest.
Thanks to the athlete from Trentino, Lampre reached the top of the cycling world: Fondriest was perfect during the season, winning Milano-Sanremo, Giro del Trentino, Tirreno-Adriatico, Go Zurigo and other 16 races, with the victory of the World Cup standing.
